Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred shortly after 1 a.m. on Friday, November 22, 2024 near the 300 block of Jefferson Circle North.
Officers responded to reports of a person shot and found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound by the side of the street. The victim was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
An initial search for a suspect was unsuccessful. However, detectives now have a suspect in custody and are questioning him. Investigators confirmed that the two men involved were known to each other.
The victim has been identified as 31-year-old Justin Baumgardner. His next of kin has been notified.
Detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
