Shooting Death Under Investigation in St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred outside the Three Brothers Market at 1040 16th Street South on Wednesday evening.

Officers responded to the scene at approximately 7:10 p.m. and discovered a 34-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite emergency efforts, the victim 34-year-old Marlan Smith was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The next of kin has been notified.

Investigators are working to determine the circumstances leading to the shooting.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the St. Petersburg Police Department or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
