Clearwater Police Detectives are conducting a homicide investigation at the Idle Spur Bar located at 1351 Cleveland Street. The incident occurred at approximately 11:58 p.m. on Monday, May 17, 2021.
Detectives say that the suspect approached the victim, 23-year-old, Da’Jon Dre’Shaud Tennell, on foot in the parking lot. Tennell sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at 12:24 a.m. at Morton Plant Hospital. It appears the victim was the intended target.
There were numerous patrons in the area at the time of the shooting and appears the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.
Detectives are asking for anyone with information related to the shooting to contact the Clearwater Police Homicide Unit.
The investigation is ongoing currently.
