Shooting investigation closes St. Petersburg intersection

Detectives from the St. Petersburg Police Department are investigating a shooting that occurred at approximately 11:25 a.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

Officers responded to a person shot near a bus stop at 18th Avenue South and Union Street.

The victim, a young adult man, was taken to the hospital by family/friends, according to police.

18th Avenue South is closed to traffic from 21st Street to 22nd Street for the
duration of the investigation.

No suspect has been arrested and the victim’s injuries are described as non-life threatening injuries.
