Single-engine plane veered off the runway at Clearwater Airpark

At approximately 8:20 a.m. on Monday, August 26, 2024, Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue they responded to an incident involving a plane at Clearwater Airpark.

The airpark is located at 1000 N. Hercules Avenue in Clearwater. A single-engine airplane, a 1944 Aeronca 65-TAC, was attempting to take off and veered off the runway into a grassy area and fence on the north side of the airpark, due to unknown reasons.

The pilot, an adult male, and a dog were on board at the time.

No injuries were reported.
