Seven Killed in Fiery Crash on I-75 in Alachua County [video]

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported that seven people have been killed in a crash in the southbound lanes of I-75 in Alachua County.

The crash occurred at approximately 3:42 p.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2018.

The crash involved 2 tractor trailers, a passenger van, and a mid sized sedan.

Additional victims were transported to local hospitals including some in critical condition.

Up until about 8 p.m., all traffic on I-75 was being diverted due to the large amount of personal property, vehicle parts, and burnt vehicles on the roadway. At 8 p.m., all northbound lanes have been reopened.

The crash occurred between milemarker 393 and 394 north of Gainesville (just north of NW 39th Avenue).
