Six year-old girl struck by motorcycle while crossing Gandy Boulevard, motorcyclist left the scene

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that left a six year-old girl seriously injured. The crash occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 on Gandy Boulevard west of San Martin Boulevard.

Troopers say that the girl was walking southbound across the westbound lanes of Gandy Boulevard near the Peridot Palms Apartment Complex when an unknown type white/black motorcycle was traveling westbound struck the girl.

A portion of the motorcycle separated upon impact and was found near the point of collision.

The girl was transported with serious injuries to the pediatric trauma center at All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg.

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call the FHP at 813-558-1800 or Crime Stoppers.
