St. Petersburg E-Bike Rider Dies After Crash with SUV in Unincorporated Largo

A 43-year-old St. Petersburg man died Thursday afternoon after an E-bike crash in Unincorporated Largo, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at approximately 3:00 p.m. on July 16, 2026, on 131st Street North, just north of 102nd Avenue North.

According to FHP, a 37-year-old Seminole woman was driving a Jeep Wagoneer southbound on 131st Street North when the crash occurred.

Investigators said the E-bike rider was traveling northbound along the west shoulder of 131st Street North. For reasons still under investigation, the bicyclist entered the southbound travel lane directly into the path of the Jeep.

The SUV collided with the E-bike rider, who suffered serious injuries. He was transported to an area hospital, where he later died from injuries sustained in the crash.

The driver of the Jeep was not reported injured.

The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
