St. Petersburg Man Fatality Struck by a Vehicle in Osceola County
Matthew Mitchell, age 24 of St. Petersburg, was struck and killed by a SUV in Osceola County. The crash occurred on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at approximately 7 p.m.
According to Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), Mitchell attempted to cross US-192 from the south to the north at Pine Grove Road.
Investigators say Mitchell traveled into the path of a 34 year-old St. Cloud resident that was operating a 2008 Ford SUV eastbound on US-192.
The crash remains under investigation and it remains unknown if Mitchell was walking or actually riding the skateboard that was found at the scene.
The Ford SUV overturned after the collision but the driver was not injured.
