Person of interest now being charged with 2nd degree murder related to a St. Petersburg homicide investigation

Detectives from the St. Petersburg Police Department are conducting a homicide investigation and named for a person of interest in the case.

On Friday, August 19, 2022 at approximately 4:45 p.m., officers responded to the Casa Grande Apartments located at 4725 39th Avenue North, Apt.204 for a man found deceased.

Larry Jarrell, age 29, was found deceased in his apartment. The death was suspicious and through an autopsy report and further investigation this weekend, it was determined to be a homicide.

Detectives named a person of interest who they identified as 24 year-old Rhiannon Cole Spicer. Police say she was residing with Jarrell at the apartment in a domestic relationship.

On Sunday evening, the St. Petersburg Police reported that Rhiannon Spicer turned herself into police and is now being charged with 2nd degree murder.

According to arrest documentation, Spicer admitted to stabbing Jarrell in the inner thigh on the evening of Thursday, August 18, 2022. Her cell phone had a Google search history of, “Do you spend life in prison if you killed someone in self defense.”
