St. Petersburg Police seeking the truck and driver involved in a fatal hit and run crash

Update: The driver of the white Ford F250/350 Super Duty dually truck, involved in this morning’s crash, has turned himself in to police. Investigators are asking anyone who saw the crash or has video to please give them call at 727-893-7780.

The St. Petersburg Police Department (SPPD) need the public’s assistance identifying a vehicle and the driver who is responsible for a fatal hit and run crash in the 6400 block of 38th Ave N. around 1:15 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2021.

The white (unknown year) Ford F250/350 Super Duty dually truck, struck and killed an adult man in the median lane of 38th Avenue N.

Police say that the vehicle left the scene continuing westbound on 38th Avenue N and turned right onto 66th Street, heading north. A passer-by saw the victim in the road and notified police.

If anyone has seen a similar truck, with front end damage, please call the St. Petersburg Police at 727-893-7780.

SPPD will release the victim’s identity as soon as his family has been notified.
