St. Petersburg Police SWAT Team at Home in Shore Acres
The St. Petersburg SWAT team was outside of a home in the area of Carson and Shore Acres Boulevard.
They responded to the home about 9:05 PM after receiving a call from a concerned friend.
Officers had reason to believe a man inside the home may be armed and suicidal.
Officers heard what they thought was a gunshot. After several attempts to contact 54 year-old James Scott Dion failed, SWAT officers entered the home shortly before 2AM.
When SWAT entered the home they found Dion dead from a self inflicted gunshot.
