State Fire Marshal investigating after fire destroys Pinellas Park home

The Division of the State Fire Marshal is investigating a fire that destroyed a home in Pinellas Park.

Crews from Pinellas Park Fire Department and Largo Fire Rescue responded to the residential structure fire on Friday, December 16, 2022 at approximately 10a.m.

Upon arrival to the home located at 5809 99th Terrace North in Pinellas Park, crews reported heavy smoke and flames showing from the roof. Crews extinguished the fire just after 11 a.m. Firefighters utilized both the aerial from Truck 35 along with numerous hand lines.

There was one adult female in the home, along with one dog and two cats. The adult female was able to escape the structure with no injuries. The dog was rescued from the back yard unharmed and returned to the owner. The two cats are unaccounted for at this time.

The fire gutted the structure and caused the roof to collapse deeming it a total loss.

Assistance is being provided for the homeowner by the American Red Cross.
