Structure Fire at Forestbrook Condos in Largo

Units from Largo Fire Rescue and Clearwater Fire & Rescue Department were dispatched to reports of a structure fire at about 8:30pm Monday evening. The call for service was at 700 Starkey Road at the six story Forestbrook Condos.
Firefighters made a forcible entry to the affected apartment while a hose line was being hoisted up using a rope. It was reported that the fire origin was confined to a dryer within an individual unit. It did not appear that the residents of the affected unit were home at the time.
Many residents spoke of extensive water damage to multiple units throughout the complex prior to arrival by the fire crews. One resident was evaluated by medical crews due to a slip and fall.
The investigation into the fire and water damage continues.
