Pinellas Park Police continue to speak with a suicidal man in the parking lot of the United Parcel Service (UPS) in Pinellas Park.

This morning at approximately 4:15 a.m. Pinellas Park Police Officers responded to the parking lot of 5720 126th Avenue (UPS Distribution Center) in reference to a suicidal adult male with a gun.

Officers have secured the area to include the UPS building and the subject is in the parking lot by himself.

The subject is armed with what appears to be a handgun and is threatening suicide.

Officers arrived on-scene and visualized the man holding a gun to his head.

Officers on scene are actively speaking with the armed subject.  All of 126th Avenue west of 49th Street is shut down at this time.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is also assisting Pinellas Park Police.

Because police have the subject contained to the parking lot, there is no other danger to the public.
