Deputies continue to investigate after a woman was shot just prior to 7 a.m. on Friday, February 25, 2022. Quinten Randolph, age 22 of Clearwater, was arrested and facing charges of Attempted Murder and Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle.
According to detectives, deputies located a 32-year-old female with multiple gunshot wounds and learned the suspect had fled the scene. Detectives say the victim was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives were able to identify the suspect as 22 year-old Quinten Randolph.
Randolph fled the scene in a vehicle which was later found abandoned in the 5200 block of Springwood Boulevard in Pinellas Park. That vehicle was not owned by Randolph and was taken without permission.
Through various investigative techniques, detectives learned Randolph was a passenger in a vehicle and requested the assistance of the Flight Unit to locate the vehicle.
At approximately 10:15 a.m., the Flight Unit was able to locate the vehicle which was followed to the area of 42nd Street and 4th Avenue South in St. Petersburg, where deputies were able to safely take Randolph into custody.
A precautionary lockdown is reported at the Pinellas Central Elementary School near US-19 and 49th Street due to law enforcement activity related to this case.
