Teen Pedestrian Struck by a Vehicle Yesterday Died from his Injuries
16 year old Jephte’ Germain-Rogers, who was injured in a traffic crash as he attempted to cross E. Sligh Avenue near N. Rome Avenue, has died as a result of his injuries.
Tampa Police Detectives continue their investigation into the crash that occurred at approximately 3:44 p.m. on Friday, August 10, 2018 at E. Sligh Avenue and N. Rome Avenue.
Germain-Rogers attempted to cross Sligh Avenue outside of the crosswalk, running northbound across the street. He was struck by a 1992 gray Honda Accord travelling westbound on Sligh Avenue. Officers arrived on-scene to find German-Rogers with traumatic injuries.
He was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries where he ultimately died.
Tampa Police say this is still an active investigation; however, at this time no criminal
charges have been filed.
This incident occurred near the Tampa Bay Christian Academy but the school has not confirmed his attendance that that institution.
