A three-alarm fire burned a vacant building at Weinburg Village–Jewish Community Center, located at 13009 Community Campus Drive in Tampa, Saturday afternoon, October 17, 2026.

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded after its Emergency Dispatch Center received a 911 call at approximately 4:17 p.m. from a bystander reporting smoke and flames coming from the building’s roof. Crews arrived within eight minutes.

The first arriving unit confirmed a working structure fire and quickly requested a second alarm because of the building’s size and potential fire load. The incident was later upgraded to a third alarm, bringing additional firefighters and resources to the scene.

Firefighters worked to contain the blaze and brought it under control within 90 minutes, according to HCFR.
