Three injured in St. Petersburg shooting incident

The St. Petersburg Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened at 1566 16th Street South at approximately 2:26 a.m. on Friday, January 1, 2021.

Police say that a large crowd was gathered on both sides of the street when an argument happened, and multiple shots were fired.

Officers were at the scene, heard the shots and helped three people who suffered injuries. All three were transported to the hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives are asking that anyone with information come forward.

The investigation into the shooting is underway.
