Toddler Dead After Drowning at Clearwater Home

Clearwater Police continue to investigate after a drowning at a home in the 1500 block of S. Prescott Avenue in Clearwater.

Clearwater Police and Fire & Rescue responded to the home on S. Prescott Avenue at approximately 7:32 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2019.

According to Clearwater Police, the 22 month-old girl, climbed the ladder of an above-ground pool.

Her father found her in the pool after both parents, who were home at the time, could not locate her. She was pulled out of the pool by her father after falling in for an unspecific period of time.

The girl, Lanita Vasilivena Bykov, first was taken to Morton Plant Hospital, then transferred later that night to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa. She was pronounced dead at that hospital on Thursday night.

CPR was administered to the girl who was rushed to Morton Plant Hospital.

She was transferred to St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Tampa, where she died Thursday evening.
