Tampa Police and Fire Rescue responded to reports of a toddler left in a vehicle in the 9400 block of N 19th Street. The call for service was at approximately 6:24 p.m. on Monday, October 14, 2019.
When first responders arrived on scene they discovered a 1-1/2 year old girl who was unconscious and not breathing.
The toddler was transported to an area hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries where she ultimately died.
Police are in the early stages of the investigation. At this time, it appears that the child was accidentally left in the family vehicle this morning.
The family made the 911 call after they discovered their daughter in the jeep.
