PASCO – A tractor-trailer hauling construction debris overturned Tuesday morning while turning onto U.S. 19, blocking portions of the northbound roadway.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 7:45 a.m. when a tractor-trailer driven by a 36-year-old Pembroke Pines man was traveling northbound on Alternate U.S. 19.
Troopers said the driver was making a left turn onto U.S. 19 but failed to slow for the turn. As the vehicle entered the turn, the load of construction debris shifted, causing the tractor-trailer to overturn onto its side.
The overturned truck came to rest blocking portions of the northbound lanes of U.S. 19, creating traffic delays while emergency crews responded and worked to clear the scene.
The driver was not injured in the crash.
The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
