Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) were called to investigate a crash involving a Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) bus at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2019.

FHP reports the PSTA bus was lawfully stopped in the outside eastbound lane of Roosevelt Boulevard, west of 62nd Street North.  Passengers were getting on the bus when a 2006 Nissan SUV slammed into the rear of the bus.  The crash closed the eastbound center and outside lanes of Roosevelt Boulevard until 9:03 a.m.

Seven passengers aboard the bus were transported to Northside, Morton Plant, and Largo Medical Center hospitals with minor injuries.

The driver of the Nissan, 35 year-old Nicholas Deane of Clearwater, was cited for Careless Driving.
