Troopers investigate fatal crash at US-19 and Beacon Groves Boulevard

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) continue to investigate a fatality crash. The crash occurred at approximately 8:26 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at US-19 and Beacon Groves Boulevard.

Troopers say that a 76 year-old Palm Harbor man was operating a sedan northbound on US-19. A second vehicle, an SUV was operated by a 35 year-old Palm Harbor woman, was traveling southbound on US-19.

At the intersection of Beacon Groves Boulevard, the man in the sedan turned left into the path of the SUV. As a result, the front of SUV collided with the right side of the sedan.

The driver of the sedan suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash. The woman driving the SUV suffered minor injuries.
