Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol continue to investigate a fatal crash. The crash that killed a pedestrian occurred on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at approximately 1:21 a.m.
Investigators say that the operator of a Chevy Bolt, a 33-year-old Los Angeles, California man, was traveling eastbound on 54th Avenue North.
East of Haines Road, a 46-year-old St. Petersburg man walked into the path of a Chevy and was struck by it.
After the initial collision, a Honda Civic driven by a 30-year-old Seminole man traveling eastbound struck the pedestrian as well.
The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash. Both vehicles came to a controlled stop following the collision.
The driver of the Chevy suffered minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital, while the driver of the Honda was uninjured.
