Troopers investigate rollover crash of FedEx Tractor trailer on I-275 in Pinellas County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) are investigating a crash that resulted in the rollover of a FedEx Tractor Double-Trailer. The crash occurred in the southbound lanes of I-275 along the exit ramp leading to Roosevelt Boulevard at approximately 6:12 a.m. on Saturday December 24, 2022.

While changing from the inside to outside lane, the FedEx vehicle struck a crash attenuator located on the right shoulder. The 23 year-old driver then over-corrected the truck back across the travel lanes and struck a concrete barrier wall. This impact propelled a section of the barrier wall to rest in the southbound travel lanes of I-275.

The FedEx truck partially continued over the barrier wall and overturned before coming to final rest in the travel lanes of the exit ramp. The Pinellas County HazMat Team responded to assist in the containment and cleanup of a diesel spill.
