Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) continue to investigate a crash that occurred at approximately 6:09 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2019 at East Lake Road and Grey Oaks Blvd in Pinellas County.
Investigators say 53 year-old David Rau of New Port Richey man was traveling southbound on East Lake Road just north of Grey Oaks Blvd in a 2003 Ford Truck.
Rau lost control of the truck due to an unknown reason which left the roadway. The truck entered the outside shoulder and overturned.
Rau, the unrestrained driver, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene as a result of his injuries.
