Troopers Investigating Crash Killing Motorcyclist in Clearwater

FHP Troopers are currently investigating a fatal crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

The crash occurred at approximately 9:35 a.m. at 1728 N. Old Coachman Road at Wetherington Road.

According to investigators, 85 year-old Patricia Neal was driving a 2014 Kia southbound on Old Coachman Road. Two motorcycles were traveling northbound on Old Coachman Road.

Neal attempted a u-turn in front of 1728 Old Coachman Road and entered the path of 66 year-old Stanley Heath of Clearwater who was operating a 1995 Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Heath was thrown off the motorcycle during the collision. He was transported to Mease Countryside Hospital where he died from his injuries.

A second motorcyclist, 60 year-old Thomas Perrault of Clearwater, overturned while trying to avoid a collision and slid into the right rear of the Kia.

Perrault was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The passenger in the Kia was not injured in the crash.

Charges are pending

Old Coachman Road was closed between Sunset Point and Northeast Coachman.
