Troopers Searching for Hit-and-run Driver that Struck and Killed a Man Wednesday Evening
38 year-old Levi Brodie Forsyth was killed after being struck by two vehicles at about 7:20 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2017.
The crash occurred in the area of 54th Avenue N and Haines Road in Unincorporated St. Petersburg.
According to Troopers, an unidentified SUV was traveling eastbound on 54th Avenue North in the inside lane approaching Haines Road North.
At the same time, a 33 year-old St. Petersburg woman was traveling eastbound on 54th Avenue North in the outside lane in a 2015 Ford Edge.
Forsyth was walking in the travel lane in an unknown direction when struck by the unidentified SUV.
Forsyth was thrown into the path of the Ford Escape where he was again struck.
The first vehicle, described as a small to mid-size red or gold SUV type vehicle, similar to a Ford Edge, fled the scene of the crash.
The driver of the other vehicle, stopped in accordance with State Law, and was transported to an area hospital
Forsyth died from his injuries at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.
