Two dead, one critically injured following motorcycle involved crash in St. Petersburg

Officers from the St. Petersburg Police Department are investigating a fatal crash at the intersections of Roser Park Drive and 4th Street S. The crash occurred at approximately 4:20 a.m. on Friday, March 5, 2021.

The crash involved a Grey Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by 27 year-old Jessica Lynn Smith. According to investigators, Smith was traveling northbound on 4th St. S, when she tried to turn left, onto Roser Park Drive South and into the path of a 2018 red Suzuki motorcycle going southbound on 4th St. S.  The motorcyclist crashed into the passenger side of the Trailblazer.

The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The identity of the 33-year-old St. Petersburg man who was driving the motorcycle is being withheld in accordance with Florida State Statute 119.071, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.

Smith and her two passengers 34 year-old Isha Clark and 49 year-old Carrie Lindley were transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.  Clark was pronounced dead at the hospital, but Lindley and Smith are in critical and stable condition respectively.

Motorists were asked to avoid the area on 4th Street S between 9th and 11th Avenues S. during the investigation.

The investigation continues.
