Two injured in officer involved crash in St. Petersburg

The St. Petersburg Police are investigating a crash the occurred at approximately 3:45 p.m. on Sunday, February 2, 2020.

A marked police cruiser was involved in a crash with a Mercedes SUV at 15th Avenue South and 28th Street South.

The officer sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital.

The driver of the Mercedes was transported to the hospital for a medical evaluation.

The intersection will remain closed for several hours for the investigation.
