A parked vehicle starts a mobile home ablaze at the Ranchero Village MHP in Largo
Largo Fire Department was dispatched to reports of a structure fire this afternoon about 5:30 pm. The fire was at the Ranchero Village Mobile Home Park located at 7100 Ulmerton Road in Largo.
Crews from Largo Station 38 were first to arrive and reported smoke and flames showing. The fire appeared to have originated in the vehicle parked in the carport then spread to the mobile home. The fire was brought under control and its cause is currently under investigation.
Neighbors attempted to extinguish the fire with garden hoses prior to Largo Fire Department arriving on scene. According to one neighbor, an elderly female occupant exited the premises after she was notified of the fire by other neighbors. She had reportedly just returned home after being dropped off by her son about 30 minutes prior to the fire.
No apparent injuries occurred as a result of the fire.
