Woman arrested for DUI after running over her boyfriend and his motorcycle in Tarpon Springs

Officers from the Tarpon Springs Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at approximately 12:26 am near the intersection of Curlew Place and Carlton Road.

Upon the arrival of Tarpon Springs Police units, it was determined that this could be a domestic-related traffic crash involving a motorcycle and a truck.

According to preliminary information, 39-year-old Christine Zervos was driving a 2019 Toyota pickup truck and ran over her 40ish-year-old boyfriend, who was riding a 2021 Indian Motorcycle. According to the arrest documentation, Zervos was traveling northbound on Carlton Road behind her boyfriend. Believing that her boyfriend was possibly impaired, she drove at high speed and in a reckless manner attempting to keep up with him. The victim attempted to stop at the stop sign at Curlew Place and was struck by the truck from behind.

Alcohol was involved, and the male subject is in Bayonet Point hospital in stable condition. Zervos has been arrested for DUI, and the investigation is still active.

Anyone that may have witnessed this crash or these vehicles before the crash is asked to contact Officer Steve Gassen at 727-938-2849.
