Bayflite Responding to High Point Elementary Following Fire

Shortly before 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, a fire was reported at High Point Elementary School.

The school is located at 5921 150th Ave N.

One person was declared a trauma alert and Bayflite was requested to respond to transport the injured person.

The fire was extinguished quickly and firefighters worked to remove smoke from the affected building.

It is reported that a student’s clothing caught fire. Additional details are not yet available.

Bayflite left the school just prior to 3 p.m. to transport the child to Tampa General Hospital.

One adult is being medically evaluated and no other injuries are reported.

The State Fire Marshal is being notified and theĀ investigation continues.
