SEMINOLE — A 19-year-old Pinellas Park man was arrested early Saturday after deputies said he drove a Maserati at more than twice the posted speed limit on Park Boulevard.

According to an arrest affidavit, a Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office corporal was monitoring westbound traffic near Garden Drive at approximately 12:55 a.m. on July 4, 2026, when he observed a 2008 Maserati GranTurismo traveling at an excessive speed.

The deputy visually estimated the vehicle’s speed at 115 mph before activating a vehicle-mounted radar unit, which reportedly measured the Maserati at 113 mph in a posted 45-mph zone.

A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver was identified as 19-year-old Max Aiden Howard. The affidavit states that Howard was the vehicle’s sole occupant.

Howard was taken into custody for allegedly traveling 68 mph over the speed limit and was cited for dangerous excessive speeding of 50 mph or more over the posted limit. The charge is listed as a second-degree misdemeanor under Florida law.

No injuries were reported, and the affidavit did not indicate that drugs or alcohol were suspected. Howard’s court date will be scheduled by the court.
