Woman Arrested For DUI After Deputy Observes Her Driving Wrong-way In Palm Harbor

Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Corporal Michael Kilian (K-9 Unit) observed a vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at about 12:39 AM. The incident occurred on Alderman Road near the intersection of Rolling Woods Drive.
In a press release from Corporal Spencer Gross, Public Information Officer from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Corporal Michael Kilian was on Alderman Road when he observed a 2016 Pontiac SUV traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of Alderman Road from Belcher Road. Corporal Kilian was able to stop the vehicle before it caused a collision. The suspect driving the vehicle was identified as 48-year-old Jan Witherite of Lewisburg, PA.
Deputies report Witherite had a blood alcohol concentration of .196. Florida law considers an individual guilty of DUI if their blood alcohol concentration is above 0.08. Witherite was arrested for DUI and was transported to the Pinellas County Jail.
No injuries were reported and the investigation continues.
