A Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office detention deputy was arrested for Domestic Battery. The incident occurred at a residence in Largo. Per Florida Statute 119.071(4)(c)(2), no further details on the occurred location will be released.
Detectives learned that on June 14, 2022, Deputy Mullen and the victim engaged in a verbal argument with one another. The argument escalated into a physical altercation, during which Mullen committed domestic battery by grabbing the victim by the hair and striking her multiple times in the head and face.
According to detectives, the victim sustained a split and swollen lip and significant bruising and swelling around her eye and cheekbone area that was still visible 10 days later.
Mullen, assigned to Department of Detention and Corrections, denied any knowledge of the victim’s injuries.
On June 24, 2022, Mullen was arrested and charged with one count of Domestic Battery and transported to the Pinellas County Jail without incident.
