At approximately 1:33 PM on Wednesday July 30, 2014 units were dispatched to reports of a vehicle crash on St. Petersburg Beach.  The crash occurred at 77th Avenue and Blind Pass Road.

Investigators from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) responded due to the life-threatening injuries to the 27 year-old bicyclist. The injured bicyclist has been identified as Adam Keehnle.

Keehnle was crossing the street, in a marked crosswalk, from the east side of Blind Pass Road at 77th Avenue to the west side.  40 year-old Jason Kingsley of St. Petersburg was heading northbound in the median lane along Blind Pass Road in a Toyota Scion when the crash occurred.

Keehnle was transported to Bayfront Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Kingsley was not injured.

According to investigators, it does not appear that alcohol and drug impairment were factors in the crash.  Although the investigation is ongoing, there are no criminal charges pending.[mappress mapid=”213″]
