ATM Robbery Details

On May 26th, 2014 at 5:25pm a white male subject approached a female patron at the drive-up ATM located at the Bank of America at 5100 Park Blvd. The woman was seated inside of her vehicle completing her transaction when she was approached by the white male subject who demanded money from her. When the woman refused, the male subject began striking her in the left side of her face/head. The subject then lunged through the driver’s window and grabbed the victim’s purse. The subject then fled south on foot. The victim suffered minor injuries with swelling to her face and left hand.

The subject has not been located or identified at this time. The best description at this time is a medium build white male with short brown hair. The subject was last seen wearing a light colored shirt and black shorts with a light colored Hawaiian design down the side. The subject is believed to be clean shaven. It is believed that the subject is between 20 & 30 years of age.

Residential Burglary Details

On May 26th, 2014 officers responded to call of a residential burglary that just occurred in the 8000 block of 53rd Way N. It was reported that an unknown subject(s) entered a residence through a garage door and then entered the dwelling. According to the victim, a white male subject entered his home at approximately 6:45pm.  While the primary officer was speaking to the victim, the officer alerted other police units of the subject’s description. The victim stated that he and his 16-year-old son were sitting in the living room when the white male subject entered his house through the interior door that connects to his attached garage. The victim had no idea who the subject was, and had never seen him before. The victim and his son were in fear of the man who was now standing before them. The victim said that he did not hear the suspect enter, and did not know he was in his home until he saw him. When the victim confronted the suspect, the unidentified man ran from the home and the victim called 911. The victim did not report anything missing, and believed his presence in the home kept the man from stealing anything.

Responding units located a suspect matching the description in the 7900 block of 54th Street N. Both victims in this crime positively identified the detained subject as the man who was in their home only moments earlier. The subject was identified as 18 year-old Steven Neidl of Pinellas Park. Neidl spoke to the arresting officers and said all he could remember was smoking “spice” in a park and then being chased down the street.

He was booked into the Pinellas County Jail for Burglary to an Occupied Dwelling.  He remains in jail on the burglary charge as well as the added Robbery charge. [mappress mapid=”195″]
