Attic fire at home in Largo leaves residents displaced

sf21strerr009Attic fire a at home in Largo leaves residents displaced this Christmas Day.

Largo Fire Rescue along with the Largo Police Department were dispatched this afternoon to reports of a structure fire.

The fire was reported at 172 21st Terr SE in Largo, FL.

The call for service came in about 3:40pm on Christmas Day.  Arriving units were able to visualize smoke coming from the roof area of a residential home.  The occupants of the home were evacuated and firefighters were able to safely remove animals from the property.  These animals included a canine and several small birds.

The fire appeared to be confined to the attic area of the home.  The fire was brought under control and its cause is currently under investigation.

Red Cross in en route to assist the residents on this Christmas Day.

Tragedy takes no time off during this sacred day.  May this family overcome their losses and rebuild to be stronger and better.
