Clearwater officer arrested and facing DUI charges

Deputies from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s arrested an off-duty officer employed by the Clearwater Police Department.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Tampa Road and East Lake Woodlands Parkway.

According to the arrest affidavit, 40 year-old Jeremy Curvan was operating a 2015 Ford Truck and was stopped by deputies for no tag lights. The deputy noted a strong odor of an achololic beverage from Curvan’s breath. He eyes were described as glassy, watery. And bloodshot. He reportedly admitted to consuming beer prior to the traffic stop.

Curvan refused field sobriety tests and exercised his right to remain silent. In addition, he refused to submit to alcohol breath testing.

He was booked into the Pinellas County Jail and later released on his own recognizance.
