Clearwater Police Arrest 17 Year-old Accomplice After Woman Fatally Shoots Carjacker Outside of a Clearwater Bank

Clearwater Police investigated a shooting that occurred shortly after 8 p.m. on Monday, October 16, 2017 in the Bank of America parking lot at the corner of Belcher and Belleair roads.

Preliminary details indicated that a female victim reported that her car was stolen and then she fired a gun at the suspects.

A short time later, her car, a red Hyundai Veloster, showed up at Mease Countryside Hospital, where one person was pronounced dead.

A Sheriff’s deputy was working off-duty at the hospital when the car arrived at about 8:30 p.m. There were reports that firearms were recovered.

Clearwater Police say the individual shot and killed Monday night is 18 year-old Lasupta Singletary of Zephyrhills. His companion was 17 year-old Jernalen Dreshaw Coleman of Dade City.

The two arranged to meet with 36 year-old Louise Ornduff of Largo and her son, Kalaeb, in the parking lot of the Bank of America in reference to the possible sale of a Nissan Rogue.

Coleman and Singletary were armed and demanded the keys to the Hyundai Veloster that Kalaeb Ornduff had been driving.

As the two left the scene in the Veloster, Louise Ornduff fired a shot, striking Singletary.

Coleman drove the car to Mease Countryside Hospital, where Singletary was pronounced dead.

Guns related to the incident were recovered.

Coleman was charged with second-degree felony murder and armed robbery.

The Clearwater Police Department and Pinellas-Pasco State Attorney’s Office will review the case for any possible charges against Louise Ornduff.

The investigation continues.
