Construction Worker Struck by Excavator and Killed in Clearwater

A construction worker was fatally wounded in a construction accident at approximately 10:35 a.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2019

The incident occurred at 1895 Virginia Avenue at the site of a new townhome development.

The worker was pronounced dead at the scene by Dunedin Fire Department paramedics.

The victim has been identified as 37 year-old Paul Russo of New Port Richey. He was employed by Professional Site Development of Odessa.

Representatives of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) were on scene this afternoon conducting their investigation, which is customary with an incident such as this.
