Tarpon Springs Police Investigating After Body Found in Wooded Area

Tarpon Springs Police responded to 1056 N Pinellas Ave on Wednesday, September 11, at approximately 5:10 p.m. in reference to a deceased individual. The body was discovered in a wooded area, adjacent to a parking lot of the location. A subject who was fishing in the area discovered the remains and notified authorities.

Detectives are presently on scene conducting an investigation and at this time the investigators do not suspect foul play.

The remains will be transported to the Pinellas/Pasco Medical Examiner’s Office for examination and the cause, and manner, of death will be pending.

The identity of the deceased is not known at this time.

This case is active pending further investigation.
