Car crashes into Speedway convenience store in Clearwater

Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue are on scene of a vehicle crash into a building at 2577 Harn Blvd., a Speedway convenience store.

At approximately 1:44 p.m., an older-model Nissan Altima crashed through the front doors of the store and ended up inside the building.

The 62-year-old female driver was not injured in the crash, nor were any customers inside the building at the time.

Clearwater firefighters are on scene to assess the structural integrity of the building.

The driver told police officers she was pulling into a parking spot when she mistakenly hit the gas instead of the brake.
