Crash in Largo results in two people transported by Bayflite
Crews were dispatched to reports of a vehicle crash at the intersection on Walsingham Road and Hamlin Blvd. The call for service came in Friday evening about 5:20 pm.
It appears that two cars were involved and both experienced heavy damage. Crews from Largo Fire Rescue and Pinellas Suncoast Fire & Rescue worked to free the injured from the heavily damaged vehicles. At the same time, crews worked to secure a landing zone for two air transports which were requested to the scene. Bayflite 3 and Bayflite 4 arrived just minutes apart very close to the crash site.
Largo Police Department was requested to completely close down westbound Walsingham Road prior to the intersection of Hamlin Blvd. Largo Police Department will remain on scene and conduct a comprehensive Traffic Crash Investigation.
