Death reported following structure fire at Seminole apartment complex

Crews from the City of Seminole Fire Department were dispatched to a structure fire at the Seminole Garden Apartment complex at approximately 4:07 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15. 2020.

The apartment complex is located on the southeast corner of 86th Ave and 113th Street.

Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke and flames from a second story apartment and audible fire alarms.

Firefighters quickly worked to extinguish the blaze in the fire unit and located a victim inside the affected apartment.

The victim, 65 year-old Pedro Ramon Marino of 8533 110th Street North, Apartment 201 in Seminole was assessed by paramedics on-scene who confirmed that Marino died as a result of the incident.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office and City of Seminole Fire Rescue Department are currently investigating the cause of the fire. Deputies say the cause of the fire does not appear suspicious.

The fire affected six apartment units in the building.

Notification has also been made to the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
