Detectives Seek to Identify Attempted Bank Robbery Suspect in Unincorporated Clearwater
Detectives from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office assigned to the Robbery/Homicide Unit are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect who attempted to rob a TD Bank in unincorporated Clearwater.
According to detectives, at approximately 5:14 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, the suspect entered the business center lobby at the TD Bank located at 28100 US 19 in unincorporated Clearwater.
The suspect while inside the business center approached the closed gate of the TD Bank and displayed a handgun to the teller who was behind the secured gate. The suspect demanded access to the interior portion of the bank. After being denied access, detectives say the suspect fled the bank on foot in an unknown direction.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 20 – 30 years-of-age, approximately 5’ 7” tall, skinny build, wearing a black short-sleeve shirt, black pants, t-shirt wrapped around his head and sunglasses.
