Elderly Clearwater Man Killed Overnight in Single Vehicle Crash in Tampa
A 76 year-old man died overnight in a crash early this morning as he tried to enter onto SR-589.
The crash occurred at approximately 1:46 a.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 as he attempted to travel southbound on the entrance ramp to SR-589 from Hillsborough Avenue.

Troopers believe that while traversing the ramp in a 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage, the driver suffered a medical emergency and lost control of the vehicle.
The Mirage departed the travel lane, entered the paved shoulder and collided with a crash attenuator.

The driver died at the scene of the crash.
Troopers say the driver was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Next of kin notification is ongoing.
The investigation continues.
