Fatal crash under investigation in St. Petersburg on 34th Street

St. Petersburg Police traffic investigators are on the scene of a fatal crash involving a small motorcycle and a cargo van on 34th Street North at 11th Avenue North.

It happened at about 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11, 2021. Preliminary information is that the motorcycle struck the back of the van. The motorcycle driver died of his injuries at the hospital.

No one else was injured according to police

34th Street North is closed closed to traffic in all directions between 9th Ave. and 13th Ave. N. for several hours for the investigation.

The other driver is cooperating with the investigation.
